What do riders do in the off-season you
ask? Train. If they don't train it will surely show when the
following year Supercross season begins. On the table for many riders
like Kelly Smith as the opportunity presents itself is to race against new
competition over seas. This can only help his preparation for the
upcoming year along with helping his pocket books.
Kelly Smith traveled to New Zealand recently
to ride in a Supercross race, which pitted country against country. Team
USA had three members with an alternate. The team consisted of Kelly
Smith, Jason Thomas, Keith Johnson and alternate Andy Harrington.
Needless to say this team brought home the gold.
This is a simple example of Kelly's off-season
training, which will put him in top shape for year 2001 Supercross.
