VRM:

Kelly Smith how does it feel to be back at your home state of Michigan for Supercross?

Kelly Smith:

It feels great. I finally did well last weekend and carrying that into this weekend.  As usually I just need to get a good start and stay up front.

VRM:

Have you’ve been riding some local tracks in Michigan to prepare for this weekend?

Kelly Smith:

Yes, I rode at some private tracks around my place and rode at an outlaw track, which is not an AMA track, but a lot of people go there and ride so it is pretty good.

VRM:

It seams like you’ve stepped up your training as your results have continually improved tremendously is there something in particular you’ve changed?

Kelly Smith:

Not really, it wasn’t so much the training as an arm pump problem and I think I’ve gotten over the mental aspect of that.  At the last race I got a good start and was able to hang on longer because the arm pump was minimal.

VRM:

Would you say that determination is the most important aspect of overcoming arm pump?

Kelly Smith:

It’s very important, as there is always pressure on you to perform well.

VRM:

Thanks for your time Kelly and good luck tonight.

Kelly Smith:

No problem, I’ll be on the gas.
