Kelly Smith had a very tough day at Steel City this past weekend. Kelly crashed hard during the start of his Qualifier for the main event. Kelly was very slow to get up, as it appeared he had been run over hard in the first corner. He was finally up and off the track with the paramedics in about 5 minutes. To my disbelief, Kelly was back on the starting line for the last chance qualifier only 30 minutes later. He got a bad start about 15th and rode his heart out to try and qualify for the main event. He ended up coming up two spots short of qualifying for the main.

I talked to Kelly later in the afternoon and he said his back was very bruised up, but otherwise he was OK. Kelly will be back on the track and ready to race in a week or two. Kelly thanks all his fans for their continued support!
